Intensive Fumigation For Woodworm

Intensive Fumigation For Woodworm

In the case of active woodworm infestations, we would always advise two treatments with a professional strength woodworm insecticide, around 72 hours apart from each other.

The first phase of the intensive fumigation treatment is a thorough insecticidal application of all untreated wood. Areas with clear areas of timber pest activity are spot treated with a concentrate of this powerful, licensed woodworm killer. The insecticide is then allowed to penetrate deep into the grain of the wood and dry.

The second phase of this specialist timber pest treatment is a thorough fumigation and ULV fog treatment of the space to seal the process. In areas of high ceilings where there is woodworm in beam, or if treating woodworm in loft spaces, the fine fogging reaches every possible nook and cranny. Again, we spot treat any areas of obvious activity with a concentrate of the professional strength woodworm killer insecticide and fungicide, which is licensed to kill wood boring beetles in all life stages.

What we are doing with this intensive woodworm treatment is effectively poisoning the wood from a wood boring beetle perspective. Once treated and dried deep into the wood, no adults will lay new eggs on the treated wood, and any grubs in the wood will be eating tainted wood and will die.
